Dr. Johnson A. Obilikwu coordinates internal audit and compliance activities in the Institute. He supervises adherence to policies taking into cognizance local legislations and donor requirements. He also manages grants to reduce financial risks and ensures that control systems safeguard the organization’s operations and assets. He works closely with financial consultants engaged to enhance the capacity of accountants in health facilities for acceptable and error-free financial returns to the Institute.
Dr. Obilikwu received his accounting training at the Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, Nigeria, where he earned a Higher National Diploma graduating as the best accounting student. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Management from Nile University of Nigeria, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Business Administration from Bingham University, Nigeria.
Dr. Obilikwu holds a broad range of professional qualifications, including ICAN Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA), Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI), Certificate in International Financial Reporting (Cert-IFRS), Certified Compliance Professional (CCP), and Certified Forensic Investigation Professional (CFIP).
He is a seasoned Chartered Accountant with long-standing experience in accounting, finance, and auditing. Before joining Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria, he worked with Setraco Engineering and Construction Company Limited for six years, as an Accountant. His long career at the Institute started in the Finance department.
Johnson loves football and he also loves listening to Christian music.
